x-windows. I have downloaded the x-windows core but cannot find the source code for this to see if I can change it.
shero: so make one! :)
shero: be clear on your description, you must be able to see what you want to run
daftykins: ok I am clear. I want to run rdiff-backup against my remote git repos
daftykins: and I want to use it for my home server backup
shero: but you didn't tell us which of the last two things you want to do.
daftykins: how do I do that?
shero: ok, so what's the output of "sudo apt-get install git-core && git --version"?
daftykins:
shero: ok, so run that line... "sudo apt-get install rdiff-backup && rdiff-backup -b"
daftykins: ok
shero: now once it's done, remove the two packages you've installed with'sudo apt-get purge git-core && sudo apt-get purge rdiff-backup'
will the kernel update that just rolled out in proposed be stable enough for the next LTS?
kevinch: in terms of what?
kernel release of course
you know how ubuntu is, so you might get a more appropriate answer in #ubuntu-release-party
shero: ok, you need to do that from the VPS, as what you're doing will now fail, and that's just not going to happen.
thanks daftykins
daftykins: ok, I will do it from my VPS
